EMERGENCY PISSOIRE

The Emergency Pissoir has been designed to offer a sanitary, sustainable and hygienic solution for multiple users. This big urinal offers men the opportinity to retain their dignity whilst peeing and it is designed to be lightweight, easily transportable and low maintenance. The Pissoir can be constructed in urban or rural locations depending on need.

Dunster Design

The main body of the toilet is made from 4mm corrugated plastic as it is UV stable, meaning it can withstand most of the weather conditions it's exposed to. This material is also very low maintenance, easy to clean and will provide users with the needed privacy.

Our pressure treated timber has had non-toxic treatment forced deep within the timber, helping to protect it against rot and insect infestation, ensuring the Emergency Pissoir remains strong and secure. This also helps to ease the process of importing non-indigenous timber into different countries.

The raised roof of this Pissoir allows for rainfall to run down and away from the structure, rather than inside. A small gap between the structure and the roof, is left for ventilation purposes.

Our Emergency Pissoir has been designed in various sizes to adapt to the different needs, accommodating up to 40 people on its larger designs.

Shipping and installation

The materials we have used in our Emergency Pissoir are lightweight, making transport easy and cost effective. As the majority of the disaster relief products, this pissoir often need to be built in a short period of time and its design is made to match this key factor.

By making the Pissoir from lightweight materials, we also eliminate the need to struggle whilst working in often adverse conditions.

Life changing research supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Our Emergency Pissoir Superstructures is being used by scientists from the University of the West of England (UWE) to generate electricity from urine. Re-named as Pee Power, this project, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is the result of five years of collective effort between Dunster House, UWE Bristol and Oxfam to improve lives in refugee camps and areas with no sanitation or electricity.

The new technology could have a huge impact in refugee camps where thousands of people are living without access to adequate sanitation facilities and electricity.
